Malissa Dillon
Director, Office of Communications and Intergovernmental Affairs
Malissa Dillon is the director of the Office of Communications and Intergovernmental Affairs, and has been with the District since 1998.
Dillon oversees staff members who are responsible for providing water resource and District information to the public, elected officials, community and business groups, and students and teachers. The office also provides planning and technical assistance to local governments, develops and distributes publications, and provides information through the District’s website, social media and informational audio and video clips.
During her tenure at the District, Dillon served as a regional communications coordinator, working with the media to increase awareness of the agency’s projects and water resource issues. She also served as a project manager for several successful Districtwide public information campaigns and was promoted to assistant director in 2008.
Dillon’s 30 years of experience in marketing and communications includes work in the pharmaceutical industry, nonprofit organizations and state government.
Dillon holds a Bachelor’s degree in radio and television production and a Master’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida.
